The compulsion to use Shad Network will be abolished in July
According to the Mehr correspondent, following the new decision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, students will no longer have to use the happy educational system from July 1, and from July 1, special free internet packages for virtual education will be allocated to student SIM cards.
According to the head of the Regulatory Authority for Radiocommunications, from now on students can follow the free virtual training on their preferred platform, and from July 1, the use of the happy platform is no longer free and the cost is calculated like other messengers.
In this regard, Abbas Asousheh, advisor to the National Cyberspace Center, in an interview with Mehr, described the new action of the Ministry of Communications in eliminating the free traffic of Shad educational platform as the final blow to the cyberspace body of the country from July 1. The announcement by the head of the Communications Regulatory Authority is contrary to the recent decision of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace regarding the plan for the protection of children and adolescents in cyberspace.
He explained that the recent meeting of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace entitled “Cyberspace Child and Adolescent Protection Plan” makes any concern in the country happy, he explained: All countries in the world, including the United States, which is the creator of the Internet to Europe and others Countries consider having a secure Internet as a basic principle for their children and have used various methods and spent a lot of money to create a safe, healthy and usable environment for children and adolescents in cyberspace.
The former deputy director of the National Cyberspace Center, noting that in Iran after many years, the High Council of Cyberspace approves the plan for the protection of children and adolescents, continued: The beginning of this plan is related to the previous term of the High Council of Cyberspace and finally at the end The government presented the plan to the council for approval. But despite the passage of this decree to ensure the protection of children and adolescents, the Communications Regulatory Authority has recently announced that from July 1, the traffic of Shad educational platform will no longer be free, and from now on this free quota will be allocated to student SIM cards.
He described the happy system as one of the clear examples of the country’s internal movement to solve the problem that arose in the time of Covid for education, and said: “Although this system initially faced major weaknesses, but with the efforts of the country’s youth, this movement And now it has reached a point where out of about 13 million students in the country, more than 9 million of them work in this system on a daily basis as a relatively healthy educational space, and the number of installations of this application is more than 17 million. Installation announced.
A faculty member at Tarbiat Modares University said: “According to a survey by the Ministry of Education, out of 13 million students, more than 3 million do not have any SIM card reader to connect to the network. For this reason, Shad platform has been forced to provide services in the web space as well.
He said that out of the remaining 10 million students, more than half of these students use the SIM card slot equipment of their parents and do not own a mobile phone or tablet. Therefore, only 5 million students have personal equipment, and the Ministry of Communications intends to provide this number with personal SIM cards, and they do not care how the other 8 million students should solve the dignity issue.
Referring to the remarks of the head of the Communications Regulatory Authority that students can use any educational platform with student SIM cards with free packages, Asousheh noted: The question is what educational platform other than Shad exists in the country that prevails Can students use its services? Maybe you mean WhatsApp messengers, through which some non-profit schools provide virtual education to students?
He stressed: “Unfortunately, the gentlemen chose a good time to strike the final blow before going to cyberspace.” So that the next people can go to Khordad in order to be able to do so 1400 Returns may cost a lot.
The former deputy director of the National Cyberspace Center said that the destructive actions of various officials and the planning of those involved should be stopped. “The cost of the happy educational platform for students has been announced free of charge according to the president’s order and the parliament’s decision,” he said. The government should compensate the collection from the income of the ICT sector of the country. However, the news indicates that this amount has not been paid to the officials of this project yet.
Asousheh added: “Although Shad is an educational platform, the Ministry of Communications considers it a messenger and says that its traffic will not be free from the beginning of July.” However, according to the gentlemen, WhatsApp seems to be an educational platform and they want to make its traffic free for students. This decision and this kind of idea and thinking must be destroyed in the seed.
